Sample

This is a piece that I made at Blacksmith Doris Months back.
The idea was to practice spirals while making a vessel at the same time.
The fuzzy ball on the end was where I was distracted by someone and forgot that it was in the fire. I think that it adds to the character of the piece. I haven't done anything with this and that is the point. It is a useless object but a curiosity.

4 December, 2010

Well, it is time for another Doris, and that time is on Saturday 4th December.

Don has promised that he will come this time and has given me a drawing to show what he will teach.

For myself I need to learn how to make gum nuts as I will be making a few. I also want to know how to make the coil well. I DO NOT WANT TO MAKE ANOTHER LEAF! He! He! But some of you will.

Same deal applies as always:

* It starts at 10 ends at 4 (so come at any time between).

* Bring hammer if you have one.

* Bring protective clothing covering legs and arms -cotton, silk or wool - good sturdy boots, goggles, earmuffs, leather or cotton pinny if you have.

* Lunch

See you there

Tuesday, July 20, 2010

Hi everyone
How would you like to be at the barn on the 14th August? It will be the earliest day that Nick and I can go.
If you would like to attend it will be the same deal as always: safety gear, lunch, your lovely selves and we will have a ball.
Nick would like me to remind you all that it is membership time for ABA Vic and attendance relies on this. Below are images from our June Doris.
Take care and see you there
